What to know
DeepSeek's API introduction currently lists deepseek-flash as its Flash model name. It says the older deepseek-v4-flash and deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp aliases are served by DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash. If your integration stores a model identifier, check the current provider documentation before changing it. This note reports the documentation checked on October 4, 2026; it is not an independent performance test or a release-date claim.
