01 / Start with compatibility

Before comparing costs, check whether a plan supports the tool, model, region, and workflow you need. A subscription for one application does not automatically provide API access for another. Verify the provider's current terms.

02 / Read the limits

For any subscription, check the billing cycle, usage windows, concurrency restrictions, supported models, and what happens after a limit is reached. Record these conditions alongside the price.

03 / Estimate your own API workload

Use measured input, output, and cache usage with the provider's current rates. Include retries and separately billed features. Our calculator accepts your own prices; its sample numbers are not a provider quote.

04 / Decide using a representative week

Track how often you work, task sizes, interruptions from limits, and the effort required to finish. Compare total cost and workflow fit. This is a selection checklist, not a current plan-price comparison.
